Earlie, thanks for the reply, we will se. This business about MD's might be of concern to me were it not for the facts that (1) he still holds about 320-350 million shares, so his sales are a tiny fraction of his holdings and (2) his purchase of stock through options exercise is approximately equal to his sales. Also, I find insider purchases a much better indicator of the health of a company than insider sales.

It also remains to be seen whether Dell will be hurt by Y2K. The conventional wisdom is that companies will "freeze" purchases of computer systems prior to Y2K. Others, Dell among them feel that computer sales my get a year end boost, especially from small and medium size businesses and from government agencies, many of which are no where near Y2K compliant, when they finally bite the bullet and replace entire systems with compliant hardware and software. Which view is correct time will also tell. Thanks again for your reply, I was starting to feel like I ought to suit up in my kevlar before posting here. Regards and aloha.
