Press Release April 27th, 1999

"The Disseminated Platinum, Palladium, Nickel and Copper Mineralization,
Discovered by Flag Resources (1985) Limited (FGR.A on the Alberta Stock
Exchange) and Golden Briar Mines Limited (GLB on the Montreal Stock
Exchange), at Matagamasi Lake, Rathbun Township, Wanapitei Anomaly,
Sudbury, Ontario, Has Been Found to a Depth of 2,500 Feet and For 500 Feet
East Into Matagamasi Lake.

The second drill hole into the disseminated mineralization, which is in
Gowganda sediments, drilling at 60 degrees into Matagamasi Lake, is 1,000
feet deep, extending the disseminated mineralization 500 feet into the lake
and to a depth of 850 feet. It is the largest and deepest area of
mineralization found in 18 years of exploration of the Wanapitei Anomaly,
primarily by Flag Resources.

The prime economic significance of the widespread mineralization is that it
indicates the nearby presence of a mineralized igneous intrusion, from
which the disseminated mineralization appears to have been derived, being
transported, by hydrothermal activity, into the Gowganda sediments.

To reach this indicated mineralized igneous intrusion, and the main source
of the platinum, palladium, nickel and copper mineralization, the discovery
vertical drill hole is being deepened below 2,500 feet and the current 60
degree hole, into Matagamasi Lake, continuing to drill below 1,000 feet.
Golden Briar may earn a 50% interest in the discovery, by spending
$400,000.00 over a four year period."
