To Jill N:

My first reaction is that what I paid when is irrelevant. You make your own decisions based on your own due diligence.

However, I will stretch a privacy point for a friend of "good guy" Teflon - who shouted I was an "idiot" for stealing his best recommendation - still curious how I was an idiot for agreeing with his "find" - but all that is past. Happily.

It was so long ago the last record I have easily available to me is that my stock split in Nov 1997 and the current basis is in the low $30s.

But again, don't see what relevance what I did in the past has to do with what you do or don't do now.

After due diligence you make up your own mind now, no?

Chaz too

To Jill N. Addendum

Since you are interested in UNPH, when I decided to move my major emphasis to telecom equip suppliers some years ago now, I quickly discovered that there were two very large companies that provide just about every possible type of telecom equip for any use - NT and LU. I bought them. Then as I learned more, I decided that the best areas for explosive future growth were wireless and fiber. That led me to Qualcomm and Uniphase. Tellabs was another I picked up along the way too. Therefore my telecom Gorilla Game I started last May 22, 1998 on Mike Buckley's AOL Fool's Library Gorilla board consisted on the Q, NT, LU and TLAB - with the Q weighted as half - equal to all the others. That is history. I did not include UNPH in the list at that time because I was concentrating on keeping the list short.

(I also flashed my opinion to Mike on the AOL Gorilla board a month or more ago, that I thought that the Q had crossed the chasm when the Ericsson/Qualcomm treaty was signed - and he immediately moved to this thread with the news - citing "Chaz" meaning GDICHAZ as someone who could follow up with explantion. This has led to major confusion since there was already a Chaz here who was guiltless in all that but who has been tied up in the misunderstanding ever since.)

As you can see from my One Gorilla, One King and One Significant Other Gorilla Game here (which made your friend Teflon angry BTW) I thought that a three stock game would be fun and wanted a wireless stock, a fiberoptics stock and an internet basket of stocks - hence QCOM, UNPH and SFE.

For whatever use to you this might be. Chaz too
