Former MCI Executive Joins Instant Video Technologies, Inc.
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1999--Instant Video Technologies (OTC:IVDO) www.burst.com, today announced that Tom Koshy has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning. Koshy, a former executive at MCI Telecommunications, will focus on long-term strategies for Burstware(R), IVT's client-server software that delivers high quality audio and video over networks in faster-than-real-time.

Koshy brings 25 years of wide-ranging operational and program management experience to IVT. "We look forward to Tom's vision and direction in the development of our technology alliances and market penetration," said Richard Lang, Chairman and CEO of Instant Video Technologies. "As a specialist in network capacity planning, engineering, software development, technical training, and large engineering projects, Tom is very familiar with the network demands of the Fortune 1000 companies that want to go beyond current video streaming technologies and become video-enabled at a higher level."

In the past 12 years with MCI Telecommunications, Koshy was involved in the different areas of MCI's backbone network and switching, and with the network administration of local access. He has successfully managed the engineering and implementation of projects in size ranging up to 250M, and has developed organizations to support their optimum process flows. Koshy has a Bachelors degree in Engineering, and Masters degrees in Business Administration and Telecommunications Management.

According to Lang, Burstware(R) is enterprise class client-server software that "picks up where real-time streaming leaves off." Taking advantage of two important industry trends, available bandwidth and inexpensive storage, Burstware(R) optimally pre-loads configurable client-side buffers in faster-than-real-time "bursts." This intelligent resource management actually increases the number of successful video and audio deliveries possible on an existing network infrastructure, beyond what is possible with real-time streaming. The Burstware(R) architecture also isolates each client from network degradations, which insures that the quality of the media content remains at the highest level possible.
