Jon - Dave T's post 15967 links to LU news which in turn, with a little "search" action for <Westell>, takes you to last year's LU PRs on the various switches and WSTL's contributions to them. Is more technical detail than I can digest all at once, but the current (last couple of days) releases from persons other than LU seem to use the same phrases. Perhaps some EE or phone person can tell us if it's the same stuff. Any of you tekkies willing to help out weaker members of this-here board by telling us what we're reading? If not, we'll go back to sitting quietly.
Regards
Harry J.

[Lucent switches]

Bell South has tons of LU 5ESS and they went with COMS DSL. ICG uses LU equipment and I believe they are using Northpoint (CSCO i think behind the scenes, look at approved vendor list for Northpoint). SBC uses a bunch of LU switches, not a peep from them regarding WSTL.

Your premise is possible, but LU connection has been very low profile so I would not blame WS for not recognizing WSTL modem profit wherever LU roams.
