John, if I loaned a lot of money for somebody in town who is about to go broke, I would definitely encourage the Mayor to sell some city assets to bail him out! Not only that, if that guy is sick I will chip in to pay for the doctor bills. -g-

This news is pretty bad if true (i.e. the sentiment expressed is legitimate) --- Japan has many nonperforming loans to these HIPCs, I guess. Now they want the world financial community to bail them out ...
