I don't know about everyone else, buy my computer needs are on hold until I can plunk down $2500 for a 700Mhz Direct RAMBUS Pentium III in January 2000! Complete with Microsoft Office-2000 and hopefully Windows-2000! My current Pentium 100 from 1995 is on its death bed, and I'm currently expanding my IBM RoadWarrior laptop for use as my primary machine until I can get my hands on a full blown RAMBUS system!

The segmenting of the market is very bullish for RMBS! First of all, those AMD and Celeron chips are EXPANDING the overall market! By the time RMBS is in full gear the market will be twice the size of the most rosey predictions of last year! Second, all those cheap computers will need upgrading inside of two years of purchase, and with the coming proliferation of high speed connections, most of those users will not stand for a bottleneck on their desktop!

The low end is wisely going after the new users and consumers that need a second or third simple PC for the home. You can bet your last dollar that Dad's computer will be the latest and greatest...RAMBUS, there is no substitute!!! Of course a Yugo will get you from point A to point B, but if you can afford a Porsche why short-change yourself!?!
