Okay, Scumbria, why should any body care about the other expenses of a company. The only cost that is relevant to price setting is marginal or incremental cost. It should be obvious that Intel has the lowest marginal cost of any chip maker. The MC of a PIII is probably less than any of the K6*'s. Fixed costs are only relevant in a shut down decision -- like in AMD. It does seem silly to keep operating at a loss.

Scumbria, I was following the discussion closely. I enjoy the bantering and downright hostility between you and others and sometimes can't resist a sucker punch myself.

I believe my comment about INTC having more revenue that most countries was a valid response to your retort that INTC has higher overhead than most countries. A company of INTC's size cannot justify its size unless it is generating revenues and profits.

Enjoy your posts, though I tend to disagree with almost all of them. <g>
