DoubleClick Selects MTI Enterprise Storage System to HELP Manage Internet Advertising Data
Storage Solution Handles More Than 8 Billion Web Ads Monthly
ANAHEIM, Calif., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- MTI Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: MTIC - news) announced that DoubleClick Inc. (Nasdaq: DCLK - news), a leading provider of global Internet advertising solutions, has selected MTI's Fibre Channel-based storage systems to support the company's worldwide operations. MTI's RAID array storage solution will house the company's production, customer reporting, database and data warehousing applications, storing up to 6 terabytes of data.

DoubleClick required a flexible, high-performance storage solution that could be easily scaled to support its growing operations. In March 1998, the company set an industry record by serving 8 billion ads across 6,400 Web sites, 3 billion more than in the previous 4 months.

''DoubleClick is experiencing dramatic growth, so it was critical that we work with storage solutions that could support the company's transaction-intensive data and reporting applications,'' said Robert Linsky, DoubleClick's vice president of operations. ''Equally important was MTI's expertise in working with storage management software developers and high-speed network providers to implement a comprehensive and reliable solution.''

DoubleClick has selected MTI's Gladiator Enterprise 3600 RAID array system, a modular, fault-tolerant solution that employs Fibre Channel serial interconnect technology. The storage system will help support DoubleClick's Storage Area Networks (SANs) located in each of the company's 12 data centers worldwide. As an architecturally redundant storage system, the 3600 will permit DoubleClick to manage and monitor information across multi-platform environments at DoubleClick's data centers, which include 130 ad servers.

''MTI's Gladiator RAID arrays are an ideal solution for dynamic, Internet-based service providers like DoubleClick,'' said Kevin J. Liebl, MTI's vice president of marketing. ''The storage systems are designed to scale with a business as demand for performance and storage capacity increases. With Fibre Channel technology, MTI storage systems provide the high-availability and maximum transfer rates required for global Internet commerce.''

Well, the tax bracket thing is one concern, but my concern is that of AOL and it's earnings coming up. Does one take a 6K profit, and wait for AOL to dip and buy in again. Seems that when one does that, it drops only a bit, and buying back in is higher than what I sold for, so am I winning? That is debatable. Lucent profits are another thing, nice profits there, held through the split. AOL and LU have been touted as long term holds, put away for the grandchildren!!! Well, I would like to get more into cash for awhile, and get rid of some of the "dogs" I hold. I hold a small position in DIS and it's done NOTHING, for example. What to do? Always decisions!!!

<<<<I heard Jerry Favors yesterday and he's 100% cash waiting for a correction. I don't know how long he's been in cash, but if it's been a while he may just wind up buying where he got out if there is a correction.>>>>>>>
is it from website or TV/radio ???
