Rob - <you ready to double down at 4 months
til tape out? Maybe monsieur Barrett was confused and meant
tape out in 3-4 months. I know it is rather tricky keeping all
these terms straight.>

Look in your mail box, then we'll talk.

BTW, I sure hope you take what the Register reports with a big grain of salt. They have one report posted now <that I know is total bull. But, unfortunately, I can't comment on it (sigh).

<One Intel engineer told us today that Merced is now unlikely to be taped out until August at the earliest, while another hinted at problems with McKinley too.>

I wonder who this "Intel engineer" is.

Maybe I should become the "inside informant" for the YUK Register. I could probably tell them that the Melissa virus pushed first samples out until December of this year, and they'd print that without any second thoughts. Remember, Only the YUK Register Tells It Like It Is!

By the way, Rob, I'll take you up on that bet, though it might not be fair to you since I might know for sure whether Craig Barrett is telling the truth or not.
