Peggy, a knockdown is my short-hand notation for a "panic" sell on no fundmental news that we know of, down to key technical levels which must hold. The panic sell should be mostly by retail trades or preset arbritrage programs during expiry week. If one sees large blocks dumping during a knockdown ... it's probably not a knockdown, but for real and there's some fundamental news that the public is unware of.

WIND was a classic case of the second.
