IMO INTC owes a lot to DELL!! dont get me wrong INTC is a great company but many of the ways they now do business came from DELL!

TTOSBT -- I take nothing away from INTC -- it is a great company. BUT here is one small reason that Dell is in a class apart. From the figures in INTC's last 10-K: INTC's ROIC is about 37.2% (excluding writeoffs for purchased R&D). That's less than one fifth of the ROIC reported by Dell for the same period.

Here's another parameter: cash generating ability (CCC) is not even close to Dell's! The one area where INTC shines is in profitability. But that is the nature of the industry and does not reflect management of assets (which is my point). Using the parameters I routinely watch, I must repeat: Dell is the best managed company I have ever seen -- bar none.
