michael...if there is a top...must also be a bottom...can't have one without the other....

the retail channel is the problem...name one company be they large or small who has consistently profited in this venue...a computer is not a true commodity...it is the sales method that "commoditizes" it...big difference...the flaw in attempting to sell in such a fashion is that your product is in a "perishable goods" class...gets stale, and is discounted as day old bread...consumer loves bargains..and the fresh bread moves swiftly to the day old shelf...dell and gtw gets around this, i disagree with gtw country stores...high cost, much like cml did with nordic track stores..ultimately a disaster...build to order not unique to dell...but it works, better cash flow, no inventory, ability to respond to market sentiment and change...
