Gateway Elects Bipin Junnarkar Vice President of Knowledge Management

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--Gateway (NYSE: GTW - news) today announced that Bipin Junnarkar has been elected vice president of Knowledge Management for Gateway's Information Technology organization. Mr. Junnarkar will be responsible for all Knowledge Management initiatives across Gateway, including developing a world-class Knowledge Management program.

''Bipin brings extensive knowledge management experience in highly competitive industries,'' said Maynard Webb, senior vice president, Gateway Information Technology, and Chief Information Officer. ''We are pleased to have a leader like Bipin overseeing Gateway's Knowledge Management worldwide.''

Knowledge Management seeks to collect, organize and analyze information gathered by an organization, as well as the knowledge and experiences of the organization's employees. Gateway's Knowledge Management program is key to developing an unsurpassed understanding of client need and maintaining lifelong client relationships.

Most recently, Mr. Junnarkar was president and chief operating officer of Datafusion Inc., a San Francisco-based company, which develops innovative knowledge management software products.

Previously, Mr. Junnarkar held senior positions for Monsanto Company, St. Louis, where he spent nearly twelve years. His roles included serving as senior director of Knowledge Management. Mr. Junnarkar was responsible for establishing internal practice in knowledge management, formulating knowledge management strategy, developing and implementing Information Technology-based supporting architecture for Knowledge Management. Prior to Monsanto Company, he was with Dowell Schlumberger and Royal Dutch/Shell Group.
