Aloha, You are still on the ignore list when you post jackass stuff and not when you ask something that other folks might wish to know. Good luck on the seasonal bit. You may be able to find the data on units, but I think you have no chance on revenues. It is too well hidden.

It is true that more people will get comfortable with buying boxes and furniture and cars on the internet, just as they did with regular catalogues. I don't know if this is a new market or just a movement from those who used to buy magazines and call 800 numbers. I still think that corporate customers will want to be sold and assured and shake hands and all that.

Alohal:

There is an alternative view with respect to the internet and its ability to ramp up sales. It's posted on the Golden Eagle thread (the devil made me do this) (g)

To be serious, there is very little evidence around so far to show that the net is a place where anyone can turn serious profits. Great for the consumer, lousy for the guy trying to make a buck. I also think many products are more suitable to sales through the multitude of other marketing approaches. To me, the net is just one more way to flog products among a huge number of approaches. The hype about net sales is supported only by net stock prices, and not by net stock bottom lines. I'm open to any info that shows it in a different light, and urge anybody with such info or data to post.

Best, Earlie
