In case you missed it, BII has negative gross margins relative to EBAY 85% g.m.. Reason is BII apparently charged the difference on the goods they sold below cost to marketing and promotion not cost of sales as is a more common practice .

At that rate they could gross $100 mill. and still lose money, buy it for $10 sell it for $9.00 make it up on volume, what a joke .

Send this off to the TSE & SEC for verification of accuracy . Taken from BII's 98 yr.end statements . With the apparent movement of a portion of the cost of sales (as per Pavan ) to advertising and promo I would very much like to hear their opinions .

Gross profit for the fourth quarter was $438,000, or 6.9 per cent of revenue, compared with gross profit of $34,000, or 2.3 per cent of revenue, in the fourth quarter of 1997, an increase of 1,188 per cent. As compared with the third quarter of 1998, gross profit increased 116 per cent from $203,000, or 3.2 per cent of revenue.
Marketing expenses represented $3.7-million in the current quarter compared with $1.3-million in the fourth quarter of 1997 and $3.3-million in the third quarter of 1998.
