TJ: Capital preservation is my mantra now. The article by Tae Kim that was e-mailed from your Tiger site helped remind me of that today.

WIND, CDNW, DCTI, FATB - all up today on down tech day.

CDNW have a feeling something's about to happen the way it's behaving. Just popped up ober a point then back again. Someone is
buying who might know something.

FATB big news today. Could go 10-20% higher on next up day. WIND I told you guys about. Hold it and watch it recover to 20's. DCTI could pop anytime with announcement. Nice support around 7.

BKS and COMS waiting for news. IPO and takeover news anytime now.
Downside a few points, upside 10 or more.

AFCI deteriorated. Won't go much lower IMHO.

Nets nervously waiting for AOL earnings. If they beat we could get another leg up especially with sell-off today.

Quality techs now testing higher low bases I believe. Digesting the profits. Don't expect a steep fall again (though who can explain last Monday?). Any steep fall a buying opportunity (as if we need another).

Bought T today for their longterm plan and stability. Even get a dividend. What do you think of it as a longer term hold?

Jeff, I can tell you're being cautious here. Nice to have some cash on the sideline. But won't sell any of the above stocks now. Feel pretty safe with them considering the stories and possible stories unfolding.

Also, smart strategy to use stop losses when the market's tanking.
Doesn't always work, but what does? Let's see, say BIG NET STOCK starts falling from 150. Buy small amount at 130 with a stop at 125, then 120 and 115. The lower you go the lower the risk. Then once it pops back, buy more? Seems smart but pretty nerve-wracking. Of course if it's an AOL type blue chip you've got to know it will eventually recover.
