Before this gets totally out of hand, which would suit me just fine, so counter to my own purposes. . . Chincoteague is a barrier island off Virginia. There is apparently an oyster species associated with it. See bluepointoysterco.com . As a midwestern flyover country type, it's a little weird for me to be figuring out stuff like this; oddly, I've driven through the remote Montana town that's home to a festival celebrating that other kind of oyster, too. See uta.edu, at the bottom. Again somewhat oddly there is a real dearth of web links on that last one.
