(OT) DD = Due Diligence

This is a term for performing all the diligent research that is reasonably "due" into a matter before making a commitment. For example, a fiduciary handling investments for another would be expected to reasonably inquire into various aspects of a proposed investment before making the investment. There's probably a better legal definition, but this is the substance of it.
