Seagate raises share buyback plan
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., May 4 (Reuters) - Seagate Technology Inc., a maker of computer disk drives, said on Tuesday its board of directors approved an increase in the company's stock repurchase program of up to 25 million shares.

As of May 3, 1999, Seagate had repurchased nearly 30 million shares of its common stock for $931 million under the existing program. This includes over 26 million shares purchased during its current fiscal year, for a total consideration of nearly $843 million.

Seagate had an average of 243.9 million fully diluted shares outstanding during the third quarter ended April 2, 1999.
