>soup, if you're going to post articles like this, at least have the good sense to point out that it was written by David Horrigan, who is anything but an impartial columnist -- he's a known supporter of Apple, and his views are thus colored to support Apple.< If you say so. His name is unfamiliar to me. I got this on a search of his name: >David Horrigan, of Glen Ridge, NJ, claimed the record in 1989. In a sworn statement, Horrigan has worn the same pair [of socks] every day for twenty years and 114 days. In 1983, shoe stores throughout New Jersey banned Andy from their premises. Since then he has purchased his shoes through the mail. [David] plans to remove the socks and take a look at his feet in 1999.< :)nickshumor.net In any case, what part(s) of that article do you think is (are) wrong or do you think labeling the author "a known supporter of Apple" sufficient to make your case that his observations are invalid? >BTW, ever notice how a good many of these releases don't seem to mention AAPL partners? AAPL's mantra under Jobs is "Shut the f--k up" about everything. Even so, names like IBM and SUNW testing QT were being bandied about at NAB. It's also tough to announce partners on technology you're giving away. And don't be surprised to see QT for Java and Linux in the near future. >RNWK is signing up partners like gangbusters.< How much money is RNWK making from those partners? How much does it expect to make in the future with both AAPL and MSFT poised to enter the field? Yahoo! reports next year's consensus earnings at -.03 for CY '99 and $.33 for CY '00. biz.yahoo.com This implies impressive YTY growth. Do agree with those numbers? More important, do you think it's sustainable? soup PS> It was Tevanian's testimony for the DOJ that MSFT coerced Compaq *not* to bundle QT with their CPUs. RNWK, may have AAPL to thank for keeping MSFT from doing the same to them.
