Compaq Armada Notebook PCs Aim for Mount Everest HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ - news) today announced today that three Compaq Armada 7400 Series notebook personal computers are on their way to Mount Everest as part of the Everest Extreme Expedition (E399), a unique team of health-science experts studying the challenges of humans in extreme and remote environments. The E399 team departed for Nepal on April 21st. This six-week expedition to the world's highest mountain is organized by the Yale/NASA Commercial Space Center for Medical Informatics and Technology Applications, The Explorers Club and Millennium Healthcare Solutions, Inc. with participation by the National Institutes of Health.
