I was in class once with the guy who ran the system that generates the financial reports for Gateway. He told me that right before earnings releases he would often be up for many hours straight preparing an entire briefing book that the CEO and CFO would then refer to as they were answering questions on the conference call. So I guess there's a little more to this than just editing a press statement.
