Tenchusatsu,

Intel's pressure to make Rambus the standard, however, seems to be attracting a much more vitriolic response than Intel standardizing on PC-100 or ATA66 or PCI or whatever. Intel controls a huge set of the standards that they've foisted on various manufacturers. Maybe I'm just closer to this particular issue, but I doubt it. I've been following most of these technologies over the years and haven't seen anything like this. Intel put up PCI against VESA and no one complained this loudly. Some of the major guys brought out VESA systems and within 12-18 months they had all but disappeared. But a lot of companies that brought out VESA cards lost money and should have been much more upset up front that this was happening.

Not that I think it will matter in the end. RDRAM will win.
