I'm here, assuming "girl" was meant for me, though I much rather prefer HG or happy_girl....! :-)

The reason I am out of this thread is because lately, I've stopped tracking YHOO. Its been bought and stashed away (at a high price I may add) and the only time I look at it is to write covered calls two weeks before the options expiry !

Re: numbered days, all I can say is - time will tell !

BTW I also hold ATHM :-)

No Ebay though :-(

mem,

>> but tomorrow is the Red (Very Red) Letter Day I've been talking about for some weeks now.

I think Yahoo is suffering from the perception that Web advertising will not generate the revenue growth bulls expect. Notice dclk was down 23 pts today also. This is the main player in Web advertising. It supplies all those banner adds you see on every page.

My own view is that yhoo's 7c in Q earnings will not support its 185 price. I have established a short position at 187. And expect to cover at 175. Maybe tomorrow.

memflyken, I'm still around, but mostly lurking right now. Not much to say as there's not much going on. After some of these mergers take place it should get pretty interesting. Adding the losses that Geocities and Broadcast.com will bring along with the dilution of shares the mergers will cause will do some very interesting things to per share earnings. It is at that time that the masses will begin to realize the emperor has no clothes. Then I'll be back.

Dave

Still long on Yahoo. I believe part of the problem is that they did not announce split at earnings. But, I did get a proxy in the mail today, and will guess a split is announced at May 14 meeting. Comments? Remember, per RED HERRING Yahoo on the list of 10 bullet proof stocks this year. Red Herring knows their s%*t.!
