Cory - I really don't want to post on this. But your type of revisionism really irks me

- Fact: It's Clinton's Justice Dept doing the prosecuting.

- Fact: Several Republican Senators are trying to cut the funds from the DOJ's anti-trust division.

- you can bring up Orin Hatch; and several other Repubs, but the fact is this case wouldn't be going forward without Clintonista Just. Dept.

Ever check into how many of those State AGs are Republican?

Of those who originally filed suit, 13 were Democrats, 7 were Republicans. One of the Democrats dropped out of the suit. A few of the posts have seen a party change since the election.

Among the senators working to sabotage the DOJ antitrust division is Senator Slade Gorton of Washington. It's ironic that he built his political career on an antitrust suit. As state AG in the 70s, he filed suit against baseball's American League after they'd moved a baseball team out of Seattle. His suit forced them to replace the team with a new one. He sees it as politically advantageous to be against the department right now. Let the political winds blow a bit and his reed-like convictions would change with them.

Let us also remember that Microsoft is itself involved in a different antitrust matter. In this one, they are pleading with the DOJ to file suit against the airlines for antitrust violations relating to ticketing.
