Dan,

Quote.com has a definite advantage over Signal right now. It was created on the Net. Signal (as the name implies) was built on a radio transmission model, from my recollection. Radio and cable users are still forced to maintain the data on their HDs to access it.

The on-line product is relatively new and they've had to play catch up since it was rolled out just as Internet quote services were exploding. They're a good organization but need to make some quantum leaps or they'll lose their obvious advantage.

It's funny how the data and TA "old school" have similar problems adapting to the new world. Equis, Omega, and Signal were just about the only game in town at one point. Worden Brothers shook things up somewhat with the first "cheap data". Omega still hasn't gotten the message. They're not even releasing a SuperCharts version of their way-overpriced TradeStation product.

They've got a large user base of the "old timers", like myself, but the newer companies are much more innovative and their customers will migrate if they don't wake up. The paradigm has definitely shifted and not all these established vendors will exist in the future.
