No cable modems here, but phone company is offering ADSL. Cost is $38/month, less than I pay for 2 lines. ISP charges were reasonable, too. Unfortunately I'm too far from a switch, so no DSL for me. 8^(

OT digger - no "daisy chain affect" that I've noticed, this thing hums! Everyone who gets a cable modem seems to stream the Star wars prequel trailer first, it is 28 Megs in high res and takes about 15 seconds before it gets going!

I've become convinced that the cable is going to be the broadband line into our homes (not a DSL variant). I think this is what the AT&T, AOL UMG cable jockeying is all about.
