Remarkable, the variability of dogs. The Russians tried to domesticate silver foxes, and bred for friendly dispositions. In 20 generations or so they turned into friendly housepets. They also developed "dutch" coloring -- black and white which made them useless for fur, they barked to protect their territories, and insisted on being taken for walks every day.
If we trained children the way we train our dogs, with patience, affection, and positive reinforcement only, we'd have much nicer kids. I always dreamed of yelling "Sit!" "Down!" "Rollover" and having the kids obey. My wife broke up my little dream academy.
