You can short an IPO if your broker is holding shares.

(believe me i know)

I use schwab. Got into prodigy at 23 and change.

Ran it up to 50 and change, and sold.

when i hit the trade button i got a "browser error"

so being a smart guy..... i smashed the mouse button again!!!!

Hense, the first trade went through (sell at 50 and change)

when i smashed the button again. (sell again at 50)

SHORTING!!!!!!!

easy as pie!

i also know that schwab will not alow you to buy an IPO without CASH ON HAND!

No margins, no IOU'S

of course other brokers may differ.
