I've been watching this Comsat deal out of the corner of my eye for some time. My question is, why is it trading at such a sharp discount to the buyout offer?

The market seems to be saying there is substantial risk that it won't happen. A gain of 50% in a short period of time may not be much to internet stock traders, but if this is going to happen , I'd be glad to scoop up some of the free money.

Any thoughts?

The tender is waiting on FCC approval...The tender can be filled electronically in a matter of seconds (duh)...If the FCC waits on the satellite bill it is possible that phase I and phase II could occur at about the same time...
