Don't read too much into that, Pluvia. Don't figure you have this all worked out.

Have you known one or two on-line brokers that have had trouble meeting demand on their servers, even having spent tens of millions on their server farms? Small names like E*Trade, DLJ, Schwab...

You have no idea what the load was like on their servers, how many people they successfully handled. And the response you got (too many logged on, no access) is actually good in that it means the servers were refusing more connections but handling the requests. Better than the on-line brokers, whose failures result in the servers simply not responding, or going down entirely.
