For what it's worth, I don't think we will have a sharp recovery either. The reason is that there is still excess capacity and the down turn was very sharp. As a result, most chip makers will be very cautious for some time to come (not to mention that after losing so much money, they may not be in the mood to raise costs). On the plus side, I think the recovery will last longer than most people expect. Current valuations are nuts.
