Nick,

It broke it on an intra-day basis but according to my work a break would take it above it's old level. The fact that it closed today at 435.16 and the old high was at 435.30 tells me that on a CLOSING basis that level has not been broken. The close, whether daily, weekly or monthly is what defines the trading for those respective time periods. I will admit that I am only vaguely familiar with P&F. If anything it is nice to know that your system views today's trading as a successful break. Perhaps tomorrow's trading will give me the complete break that I am looking for. Time will tell.

Regards,

SO

TOKYO (AP) -- In a further sign of Japan's nagging recession, production at the country's factories and mines plunged 7.1 percent during fiscal 1998 for the largest fall in 24 years, the government said Wednesday.

It was the biggest decline in percentage terms since 1974, when production fell 9.7 percent, said Konosuke Ikeya, head of the statistics analysis bureau with the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
