Paul, Do I detect a change of heart here? I still feel it will be an uphill battle, even if the K7 works well since AMD is very vulnerable to errors of execution. It has no $8B+ cash hoard to fall back on and the recent sale was a matter of survival and that $500M will be needed as I am sure AMD must have plans for the progression of .18 to .13 from the current .25, and possibly with the new damascene based tech, if they can get the know how from others, as I am not sure they have developed it in house at this time. There was some chatter about IBM or Motorola being a damascene capable foundry for them. Of course Intel has this tech in house and will be inherently more efficient so AMD will continue to have a 'stern chase'.
