I'd hate to have to repeat my paean to Suzie -- my childhood Scottie. I despise your hatred against the Scottish breed (the famous "Black Watch"). She, almost alone (with only a company of marines), fought the battle of the mess hall against the Nazi rats who would destroy our way of life. She alone went into the garbage pit to destroy the last hangers back. She survived threatened genocide because she was not pure black. She survived being carried in the basket of my sister's bike clad in an infant's dress and bonnet and being laughed at by the troops. She never bit anyone but a rat. If you were bitten chances are the Scottie thought you were a rat. No doubt mistaken.
Suzie used to put a cockroach in the middle of the rug and watch it while it tried to escape. She would catch it, return it to the center and role on it a couple of times, and then continue the game of roach polo.
Of course, the old breed has deteriorated. They don't breed heroic Scotties like her any more. Must be the elimination of the white spots that did them in.
