Michael, the irony is quite sharp. Carl Rowan shot a neighborhood kid who broke into his yard (with someone else) to use the pool, and it turned out that the handgun he owned was unregistered!Rowan still tried to bluster his way through it, about how he was not a hypocrite, but things were never the same for him... Paul Sarbanes almost lost an election in the eighties over his hypocrisy in sending his kids to private schools, but Maryland is a Democratic state, and he managed to overcome the flack...
