BIDS does not carry an inventory and has very low overhead. Like other Auctioneers they get a cut of every sale. Sounds safe and profitable to me.

In 1998 BIDS posted losses of 12 MM on revenues of 13 MM. BIDS is not even cash-flow +ve; profits is not even on the distant horizon.

As of Dec 31, 1998 BIDS had 11 million in cash and marketable securities. How long will this last ? BIDS has not even started an aggressive advertizing campaign (it will cost millions).

BIDS deserves a market cap of less than a quarter of ONSL's market cap. It is at best another CYSP or a KTEL (market cap of 100 million)

Regards.
Rajiv

It may sound profitable but their financials show otherwise. Loss for 1998 of $18.7 million increased 178% over loss for 1997 of $6.7 million. When do think BIDS will show a profit

Does BID.COM operate in Canada, but a high % of their Internet Auction Sales is in US Dollars, meaning 1.5% extra.??
