I understand this, except that paying 15 billion in stock (or thereabouts) would seriously dilute it. LU waited until after their 2 year waiting period to acquire ASND for this reason. Any company that pays this and can't take advantage of favorable write-off techniques will suffer for the intermediate term. IBM should take them out. No problems there.
