I hear you. But you would be surprised to know that they did not, in 1991 0r 1993 or 1996, take this hostile enviornment into consideration. There is ample documentation available from Motorola on the constellation design and many other outside white papers and reaserch analysis of their array and intersatellite links in general. I have spoken with some of the people who had the massive task of keeping the GPS system accurate during that 2 year period. As you know, those sats don't have intersat links and they have significantly more radiation shielding. Time will tell if I am right, however, I have asked the question to those in a position to know and the answer was very sobering. We shall see.

My overall point is that I am not posting information that is false or misleading. I believe that anyone who did the level of reasearch into this issue would come to a similar conclusion. I think this issue is also part of the system viability analysis. The company will go through an equity destroying restructuring before these problems surface publicly (if they are not already). This is the next level and should be a worry for the banks and bonds guys who will own this company within 6 months (along with Motorola).

CommSatMan OT OT - In a LEO satellite with the type of stabilization that Iridium uses, fuel is only used to correct for drag

You have said this several times, but it begs the question of how they control their attitude. ??

Just curious.
