Hey wait a minute! When corrected by population, the United States has 9 times the murder(?) rate as Canada (100 GUN murders vs. 10000). How can this be almost the same? I've got a question though, with a thousands of miles of border without a fence, you'd think that it wouldn't be much more difficult to smuggle guns into Canada than a trunk full of cigarettes (Given the huge supply in the US, the ease of obtaining guns, and the open borders). Maybe there is a difference between Canadians and Americans after all. BTW. I am not antigun. I believe that I have the right to take reasonable precautions to protect my life and the lives of my loved ones. That protecting them and my self from violent criminal attack is my right, not a social service dependent soley on the competency and reaction time of law enforcement in my neighborhood (which btw, imho is quite good).
