Well..if they tried to do that ..something else could happen..that would be the final threat right? So then..even if they tried..that is when gold could skyrocket shortterm..some other hedge funds could come in and buy up the gold and squeeze the shorts even more..or Barrick and all the other producers would then start buying up to cover their forward positions..
just thoughts..maybe improbable..

Seems that the American Government & Major Banks have the CB's of the G6 (and others) talked into parroting "IMF Sales" to gain support for the war in the Balkans. When the economy is going well, they appear to have little problems at home getting the money to fund it. On the news this AM, Clinton was looking fo 6 bln and it looks like they want to give him 12 bln (or something like that).

Nice up tick on the POG today. Up 1.35 earlier.
