Selling my position in Storage Tech (STK). IBM has announced it will develop and sell its own storage devices rather than buy and rebrand STK's. 15% of STK's business is affected. While STK has had time to prepare for this, and there is some opinion (certainly STK's) that IBM's product is inferior to the STK product (so customers might very well not buy the IBM), my opinion is this:

There are two elephants in the business - IBM and EMC (maybe also SUNW)- who have power, resources, and determination. I see STK as a victim. I'm just not knowledgeable enough to predict how STK might fare. And given the rise in STK's stock price, I'm taking my profits and stepping aside, at least for now. Paul Senior
