Ice, The Russians are in such a desperate economic situation, that I think they could use a nuclear weapon without widespread repercussions in a ground war this summer. What have they to lose, and they will gain some respect. The US and Nato are not going to blow up all of Russia, as the radioactive fall out would be deadly for everyone.

ANd if they did use a nuke, it could be said to have been accidental or by extremist elements in the Russian structure and could actually
generate more interest and money for Russia so that the other 20K of
nuclear warheads stay under wraps.

The mouse that roared was a movie with Peter Sellers where a very small European country declared war on the US just to surrender to the US and get their own marshall plan type largess.

Russia wants respect, and they can get it.

So how's that for an out there opinion -g-
