michael..<ot> dried beef..does it have a greenish tinge to it...similar thing is done to italian sausage...hang it in an unrefrigerated cool dry place for a few weeks, it begins to shrivel, but the taste becomes intense..the spices infuse with the meat..you can eat without cooking, but once dried it must be stored in oil..to further preserve..lasts indefinately..
