Its sad about your friends.

And that is why it is important to pick good stocks. They always rebound. Of course I bought CSCO, QCOM and AOL at the near bottom and thats what got me back so quickly.....apart from the fact that the market bounced back generally.

It is speculation, but intelligent speculation I would say, which is essential. Right ?

Most of my company that posted PMs to me have since lost so much they are not in the market:-(

Thats what happened in software. What really bugs me is that guy Moore who wrote the gorilla game. People think that is some kind of high tech investing bible, as if you can buy a gorilla stock and thats it, you are set, period. You kind of saw the reverse of what I saw, Glenn, because you shorted amzn which was becoming a gorilla. Otoh I was following software with stocks like Sap that were close to being established gorillas. The market was falling apart for everybody and tons of people just refused to sell because they owned a "gorilla". Moore never addresses market collapses in his book.
