*OT*

If possible, run Windows NT. I run a ton of apps, and my day job work stuff too, two charting apps (Windows on Wall Street with live data and TradeStation either with PC Quote or End of Day data), several browser windows... etc.

All on a Pentium 233 Laptop with 128MB RAM.

On a PII or PIII desktop it all screems. I rarely reboot my NT, only when I need to leave the office and power down.

Check all the apps you run for compatibility with NT (most are these days), try not to run 16 bit apps, you might have a much better experience.

Michael

*OT* Ramsey,i'm running a network on 400mhz celerons with no more than 128mb ram on each machine under windows NT. i have up to 20 windows running concurrently and zero problems. maybe you should try NT instead of w98.

regards,
