Chief, I've kind of been speculating something along similar lines. Trading range seems very controlled as of late, officers of Foundation Equity are part of GLE's board and are insiders - it's to their advantage to co-operate with institutions or other. I was thinking friendly takeover, but a cross seems equally as feasible, either with Delphi or institutions that want in on a bigger volume. Not sure if Foundation would sell a bigger volume unless it were strategic - they've been in for the long haul and this story is only just beginning IMHO. Any down trend I would look at as a buying opportunity (biased, since I am long).

Regards, t.

I'm with you chief. That news report got my blood pressure up @ first but rationally a couple of things come to mind.

1. As per the upgrade in the Ballard stock in this mornings paper. I think it was presumptuous of Morgan Stanley to assume that GM or BMW could be beneficiaries of any Ballard technology. They may not even be allowed access to the technology. They are not the major shareholder in the company. Just considering California alone, they want 10% of cars there to be this technology by 2001. Calif. has a population the size of Canada. With stakes like this I'd want to own at least a big chunk of the technology/company, otherwise...

2. As Kevin mentioned earlier. The GM/BMW report said 'solid oxide' not PEM

3. What I don't know is ... will GLE prices be dropped before a GM acquisition?
"What to do, yeah , I really don't know. I really don't know what to do!"
Thanx for making that phone call chief

Good thought Chief I wonder if Delphi has any track record of taking Eqity positions in others using this process. I will look around a little.

If a deal with Delphi was for "exclusive" use of the GLE SOFC for automotive applications, then I would fully expect Delphi to get in return a similar exclusivity clause that wouldn't allow Delphi to use other vendor's SOFCs. If the exclusivity was worldwide, then the BMW deal must therefore involve GLE. This is pure conjecture on my part.
