Clariti Signs First Distribution Agreement for Wireless Voice Messaging Products

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. & SAO PAULO, Brazil--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 1999--

-Deal with Conectel, Brazil's No. 1 Paging Company, Validates Clariti's Innovative Wireless Technology Concept-

Clariti Telecommunications International (OTC:CLRI - news) today announced that its wireless division, Clariti Wireless Messaging, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (''MOU'') with Acme Paging, the largest provider of paging services in Latin America.

Under the terms of the MOU, Acme Paging will sell Clariti's digital voice pagers and wireless voice messaging services in Brazil through Acme's subsidiary, which operates under the Conectel brand name. This marks the first distribution agreement that Clariti has signed for its patented ClariCAST(TM) Digital Wireless Messaging System. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

According to the Yankee Group, a leading international market research firm, Conectel has the number one market share in Brazil, with more subscribers than any other paging service provider. Conectel offers text and numeric paging services in all of its major markets.

Barbara Svec, General Manager in charge of Acme's Latin American paging operations said, ''We are very excited to be the first company in Brazil that will offer Clariti's innovative wireless voice messaging service. Conectel has grown rapidly by bringing leading- edge technologies to our Brazilian customers, and we believe voice paging will represent a significant portion of our business in the near future.'' Ms. Svec continued, ''Partnering with Clariti will allow us to grow our subscriber base in existing markets, plus it provides us with a way to quickly expand into new markets.''

Mike McAndrews, President of Clariti Wireless Messaging said, ''We are extremely pleased to announce this distribution agreement with Conectel, which has one of the strongest distribution networks in Brazil. We have worked long and hard to develop our new paging system, and are eager to demonstrate the capabilities of the ClariCAST(TM) Digital Wireless Messaging System to the worldwide paging industry. We are proud to partner with Conectel to introduce our technology to
Brazil.''

Ms. Svec concluded, ''Brazil, the fifth largest country in the world, has a population of nearly 160 million people, and an economy that represents 33% of the GDP of all of Latin America. Despite Brazil's much-publicized recent economic difficulties, the market for wireless telecommunications continues to experience rapid growth. During the past four years, the paging market alone has grown from approximately 220,000 subscribers to over 1.5 million subscribers today. We look forward to working with Clariti to bring this new generation of wireless voice communications to the people of Brazil.''
