Michelle -- So many people say its 'technology' driving the economy. Maybe we should be saying it is a generation of hard working technology workers driving the economy.

Not to mention all the stresses we've gone thru ! I mean 9-5 jobs were the norm in olden days, but I've worked 14-20 hour days consitently without taking a break for 10 years. Talk about being in a male oriented society like Middle East and Australia where women had to work twice as hard to be half as successful !

I would hate to have my daughter go thru my kind of life. Hence the comment that I'd kill myself working so she can have a more relaxed lifestyle. Maybe take up painting or writing ! But who knows what future has in store !

There is no doubt in my mind that this
group graduating in the 90s is the hardest working of any generation in like 50 years.

Michelle,

My son did very well in college. He also had a lot of fun. Traveled, etc. He graduates with no debt, a new car, home theatre system, etc. It is time he supports himself. He is an only child and barring me ever shorting a net stock again, he likely will end up as a trust fund child. He needs to learn to appreciate it.

Glenn

Michelle,

I am 39. I am worried about the spoiling of the 4-20 year old group caused by 2 parents working and feeling guilty.I am not talking about folks "our" age. It's not quite as straight forward as "the younger generation has it easy." My 16 year old has friends whose parents bought them 850 BMW's. I'm not kidding. The sophomores are not given permits to park on campus. This is because most of the kids have cars. There is no room in the lot. Ask H.James what is going on here. Some kid called in a bomb threat to the high school today so it's cancelled. Probably had a hair out of place. They have it tough alright.
